About Dr. Jason Stepkovitch

A native of Upstate, New York, Dr. Stepkovitch obtained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed his internship at St Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, and is a graduate of the psychiatry residency program at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Stepkovitch is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr Stepkovitch has worked in community mental health extensively. He served as the medical director for Cortland County Mental Health, where he worked for nearly ten years, and has also worked at Hutchings Psychiatric Center, the Syracuse VA and Liberty Resources.

Dr. Stepkovitch began his private practice in 2012 out of a desire to provide a more personalized experience for his patients than is typically offered in an insurance-based model of care. He has formal training in dynamic deconstructive therapy, an evidence-based psychotherapy indicated for borderline personality disorder. Whether engaged in medication management treatment or psychotherapy, Dr. Stepkovitch believes that a thorough understanding of the psychological factors influencing a person's symptoms allows him to be more effective as a psychiatrist.
